Hannah's Speech device

Hannah FINALLY received her speech device. It is a Vantage Lite from PRC. She has taken right to it, and enjoys searching it for the right "words". There are so many functions this thing can do on top of being a speech out put device. It can be programmed as a remote, can be a piece of your PC helping a person access programs from it, it is an MP3 player, and so much more. It is unbelievable. We are so excited to get it out in public and get her to use it to order her own food and drinks and just make talking to her friends so much easier!

The Polar Plunge

Kevin, my cousin Linda, and I did the Polar Plunge this past weekend for Special Olympics. We had SO much FUN! We raised about $1200 and have a good story for the Christmas letter. Thank you to everyone who pledged us and came out to watch. We REALLY appreciate your support!

Hypothyroidism

We found out yesterday that Hannah's thyroid is buring out. So today she starts on Levothyroxine. I knew something was "off" she just hasn't been herself lately, hopefully due diligence will do the trick.

Time to start saving for the orthodontic work

Yesterday Hannah had to have 2 teeth pulled to make room for the new ones that were growing in behind. Next month one more needs to get shaved down. Her 2 front permenant teeth are growing in a v pattern. Hopefully as she grows they will straighten. But I think she got hers mother's teeth. So sorry wallet, You're welcome mastercard.

This will be easy.....right??

Hannah wants a Spongebob cake for her birthday. I am going to attempt to make this cake. How hard can this be, for pete's sake he IS sqaure. The fondant frosting intimidates me a little, but she will like it, even if it resembles him a little. Wish me luck. And I will accept any advice on the fondant!

I can't believe the New Year is here. Last year seems like a blur. Hannah will be 7 years old in 4 days! Yep, SEVEN! Seven years ago today I was laying in a hospital bed, on monitored bed rest. This year I have the day off of work and am watching Sponge Bob with my best girl.

This year my resolution is to do this BLOG! (I think I say that every year) At least that is my online resolution. I also want to foster some relationships with people on and off line. I am such a home body, we will see how that goes.

So here it is the New Year and my first offical 2009 Blog post.
